How do I find my camcorders or cameras adapter ring / filter size?

On most camcorders and SLR camera lenses the adapter ring / filter size is written on the front of the cameras existing lens. Look for a circle with a line through it; the number right beside that circle is the cameras thread size which would be your cameras adapter ring / filter size.
